Passage is a group visual art exhibition and marked the first time that we were holding one of its kind here at SPRMRKT! Led by exhibition lead, Stephanie Lee, our weeks of planning and countless correspondences finally saw us to the day of the hang.
And we were all set for opening night!
Guests who arrived early were treated to a visual feast as they lingered around the artwork and learned about the inspiration behind each piece.
SPRMRKT’s own Chef Joseph also had a few creations of his own to complement a creative night:
The guys at The Brew Crew were also recommending their specialty Spanish craft beers to wash down with our mini bites. Now the guests were really starting to stream in!Packed to the brim indoors
Rounding up the speech with the help of some smooth tunes by homegrown soul singer, Michaela Therese.
As she serenaded the crowd, the enthusiastic exhibition helpers “friends of the artists” have been going around encouraging people to get crafty or sign up for workshops…
Such a clever kit!
Happy faces all round, especially from the prize winners!
Heartfelt congratulations to this talented group of artists – each of them has persevered in their own journeys to create art and we are glad we could give them an avenue to pursue their passions and showcase their work.
Their public engagement didn’t end that night and the following are snaps of just one of a few workshops they held at SPRMRKT to encourage everybody to rediscover art.
In their short time here, Passage has been an inspiration – encouraging us to reconnect with art as individuals and also to keep chasing our dreams. If they have inspired you as well, keep up with them through their Meetup group, Creative Singapore! to stay updated on upcoming workshops etc.
